When I was little my family would always call bell peppers mangoes , how about you?! When I moved from the Midwest to California, I was shocked when I found out what a mango really was when I began working for a local grocery chain. Boy, we were SO FAR OFF THAT IT'S STILL EMBARRASSING!🫑🥭 However, it is still common enough that the Webster dictionary's definition for mango includes a sweet pepper.   Some grocery stores will call their bell peppers “ mango peppers ” so that everybody knows exactly what type of food they are looking at. I do wonder how that would work for anybody wanting to prepare a Mango and Bell Pepper Salsa. Although both the bell pepper and the mango are fruits, a pepper is a pepper and a mango is a mango. Imagine ordering a delicious tropical mango fruit drink and receiving a bell pepper drink.🤣 Tropical Mango Fruit Drinks Made In Hawaii Why is bell pepper call mango in the first place? Well, in the Midwest and some Appalachia states (especiall...

Immersive Experiences Today

Image
Well, as of lately it's all about immersive experiences today , the perception of being a part of a different environment than our normal daily one, or is it? Lets face reality, i t's a great time to STOP and sit and evaluate our way of life when it comes to our acquisition of our food and what we eat. Sometimes we just get into a habit and don't consider or are even aware of other resources near us. First thing I recommend is checking out the Feeding America Organization website. You can enter your zip code to find all food resources in your area. For seniors, visit your local senior center. You may qualify for Meals on Wheels (free meal delivery Monday thru Friday) and the monthly commodity box. Let's be honest... Great Depression Era food is not what we can get today...food and livestock are grown/raised differently, even packaged food is processed differently. And... a lot of food during those hard times were not exactly healthy, it was good to survive on, not neces...

Ed McMahon Publishers Clearing House Commercials

-
Image
Why do millions of people remember commercials of Ed McMahon always popping up at people's homes and knocking on their doors with surprise over-sized checks to winners...if he supposedly never did this even once for any company at all?! Do you remember seeing him on TV delivering prize checks? It is said that Ed never delivered giant checks to anyone, and that it's a false memory and example of the Mandela Effect. Now, I do understand that Ed never worked for Publisher's Clearing House Sweepstakes, but for their competitor, American Family Publishers. And, that American Family Publishers NEVER had commercials of Ed or of anyone delivering checks or prizes to anyone. So, why do so many people say they precisely remember seeing Ed McMahon doing so AND why is he referenced in so many TV shows, speeches, etc. of doing so too? For example: in the movie Erin Brockovich she answers the door and tells her daughter, "I hope this is Ed McMahon with a big check!" Also, there...
